Self Portrait Photoshoot

by: Ariel Bussani

For this project, I wanted to play with the ideas of using common materials for a photoshoot, and show that opportunity and creativity is available if you’re willing to try it out. I used rubber cleaning gloves and made rings from some clay for a one-person self portrait shoot. Self-portraits have always been a place of discomfort and awkwardness for me, so I wanted to try and play with new angles and ideas; trying to see self-portraits as a place of open opportunity and creativity instead of confined self timers and judgement. To me, it’s all about perspective and how we’re willing to see the things around us, and what space we are willing to give ourselves for growth.
