The glass ceiling is an expression used to refer to an invisible barrier women encounter in their professional careers. There's a mythology associated with the expression; only women who adopt a more masculine persona can surpass these societal limits. In truth, there is nothing inherently serious about masculinity, and femininity is not mutually exclusive with professionalism. This is a painting about the women who crack the ceiling with their brightest lipstick on. Go leave your mark on that glass.
